Press Release

‘Aspiring Leaders Community Project Comes To Stokes Valley’

A very exciting community project is coming to Stokes Valley & an invitation is extended to Stokes Valley organisations, groups, clubs & organisations who service Stokes Valley families, to participate and benefit from what is an extraordinary offer.

Over 100 ‘Aspiring Leaders’, people aged between 18 & 30, will embark upon Stokes Valley on Saturday 1 August 2009 to lend a voluntary hand with community projects.  These young people come from all around New Zealand to attend the Aspiring Leaders Forum, a four-day programme to debate and discuss the ideas and philosophies of leadership with Members of Parliament, community leaders, and other inspiring men and women from various walks of life.  During the four-day programme they also action the philosophy of the Forum whereby serving others is the foundation of meaningful lives and healthy communities.

Stokes Valley community projects are being sought so that projects can be coordinated over the coming few months and matched to the volunteers according to their skills, talents, gifts or passions.  Approximately 16 community projects will benefit and can be as broad as building projects, community gardens, helping the elderly, in fact any community project will be considered.

To register your community project contact the Stokes Valley Community House on 972 5758 or email svch@svch.org.nz today.
