Annual Stokes Valley Community Hui
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009On Friday 13 November, Stokes Valley residents, community leaders, business/organisation heads & decision makers will be making their way to the Annual Stokes Valley Community Hui with a vision to make progress on specific areas of need as identified at the inaugural hui held last year. Children/Youth, Fun Events, Environment, Communication, Safety and Community will be followed up and reported back by the coordinators of each area and a commitment by the community to take responsibility for the working groups will be sought.
“The outcome of the Hui is 1; for the community of Stokes Valley to work together and 2; improve or make a positive change to the areas identified” says Tracey Pomare, coordinator of the Stokes Valley Community Hui/Stokes Valley Community House. “There are many groups in Stokes Valley doing lots of wonderful things for the community and the Hui will facilitate a dialogue between groups which could also fulfil some of the needs identified” she says.
